What happened between Demi Lovato and Marissa Callahan?
Demi Lovato and Marissa Callahan were friends for a very long time. Their relationship dates back to their childhood years, all the way to 2006. Suddenly in 2018, they started shading each other on Twitter and before you knew it, Marissa was no longer in Demi’s life. What happened? Well, that’s what we’re here to tell you.

Demi and Marissa’s public feud started back in 2018.
Their Social Media Shade
So apparently Marissa posted this on Facebook first.
P.S. I don’t know how true the Facebook screenshots are, but they were published on several sites. Demi stans say they’re fake, but I just included them here because mainstream outlets used them.
Here’s another screenshot that was going around—again, idk if this is true or not.
On the right, the apparent Facebook status that she posted says people that only talk to her because she’s close to a celebrity and when she says that she doesn’t talk to that celebrity anymore, they want nothing to do with her. I don’t know if the screenshot is true, but the contents of that status reflect on Marissa because that was something that would upset her—when people only were interested in her for Demi. I’ll get into that later on in the post.
Marissa isn’t some Hollywood friend to all celebrities. She was prominently friends with one celebrity—Demi.
Again, whether or not those Marissa screenshots were true, Demi was surely responding to SOMETHING.
From May 2nd, 2018 until May 3rd, Demi posted some rather interesting tweets. I’m going to have them all in the order that she tweeted them.
Ooooooooooof.
Yeah those tweets are still up as you can see by the “I Love Me” icon because I just recently screenshot them.
Obviously, this was in response to Marissa and their fallout.
From Marissa and Demi’s going back and forth interaction alone, it should give you some sort of feel of what exactly happened. You know, Demi is a better exposer than me because she does it all on the spot. I keep you guys waiting until I have enough time to write a post.
What do we know from this interaction:
Demi and Marissa stopped talking and some people in Marissa’s life suddenly didn’t want much to do with her.
Marissa was mad that Demi didn’t come to her birthday party (apparently, but Demi really didn’t attend).
Marissa didn’t support Demi in some situations.
Marissa f-cked Demi over and that’s why she doesn’t exist in her life.
That’s basically what is public information. Moving onto the private information.
The Inside Tea
There’s a lot to Marissa and Demi’s friendship and many inside sources had a lot of opinions on their friendship, including mine.
So back in the day, I was also told about Marissa alongside a crap ton of people in Demi’s life. Keep in mind that this was like in 2015.
Dating all the way back, the first thing I was told about Marissa was that “she’s a horrible friend to Demi. None of us like her and she doesn’t have Demi’s back in any way.” This is years before their fallout!! So it makes you think, what else went on?
Well back in 2016 and 2017, we revealed some tea about Demi and Marissa on our old ask box.
So yeah…
My source told me a long time ago that Marissa isn’t a good friend to Demi, she lives off her money, and backstabs her A LOT.
This is sad to note because Marissa was in Demi’s life for a long time and Demi looked at her as someone who saw everything that she’s been through and still loves her for who she is.
She was there when Demi was best friends with Selena Gomez.
She was there before Demi blew up to stardom.
But what Demi didn’t know is that Marissa wasn’t only SEEING everything Demi was going through. Marissa was also TELLING.
This brings me to what I exposed in my June Tell All and Reveal.
I wrote in the tell all that Demi FINALLY found out that this person—Marissa, never had her best interests at hand. And I specifically said, “our A list singer was always a victim of leaks until she started CUTTING OFF the ones whom she paid their bills.”
Aka… Marissa was spilling tea on Demi.
This later got confirmed by Demi’s sister, Dallas, who was on TikTok when someone asked her to “spill the tea on Marissa.” To that, she replied, “she spilled too much tea herself.”
The fact that Dallas confirmed what I said exactly eight days after we did, is so funny. Someone on Team Lovato is working overtime to prove our credibility. The same thing happened with the Demi song that leaked about Nick Jonas after my post exposing what happened between them went viral.
Some of you were yelling at me because I called Marissa her “kind-of-assistant-turned-best-friend.” I know she wasn’t her assistant but it was an ongoing joke between inside sources because Marissa would come on tour with Demi and just do everything for her. Sorry for the confusion.
So yeah… Marissa was leaking information about Demi. My source said that she isn’t too clear on where Marissa was leaking the information but she heard that Marissa has reportedly gotten paid in the past by media outlets after leaking some information on Demi. Whether she was talking to BlindGossip or TMZ, I’m not too sure about the details.
All I know is that this was an ongoing habit that Demi apparently caught on only in 2018.
When I asked for more on their relationship dynamic, I was told that Demi was obviously the mess my sweet girl always is—relapsing, lashing out, and Marissa took advantage of that. My source also feels that Marissa was always jealous of Demi and that’s why she wanted to sell her out.
You see, sources come in all shapes and forms. All of the main sources that I speak to on a daily, don’t have any ill intention when it comes to any celebrity mentioned on this blog. This specific Demi source hated what Marissa was doing because valuable information can do a lot of harm when it’s in the wrong hands.
There is a popular theory going around that Marissa runs DemiDirt. DemiDirt is one of the many Demi accounts that have leaked photos and private information countless times. Unlike other self-proclaimed sources, the ones who originated from Demi’s camp weren’t exactly hacker based. They were people in her life.
The person behind the, now inactive Demidirt account, has denied being Marissa several times and many Demi stans have told me that DemiDirt has actively sh-t on Marissa and called her out.
Marissa was even asked about this account in 2017 and she denied having anything to do with it.
What confused everyone was when Dallas liked a comment on TikTok that said that Marissa ran DemiDirt.
The funny part is that Demi once thought that Marissa was behind DemiDirt, but some news came out to show the opposite.
Demi said this herself on her twitter account—you know, Demi the great exposer—but that’s now deleted. However, I have some tweets of the person who mentioned DemiDirt to her.
Demi is responding to the fan who said that they’ll find out who’s behind the account that was leaking information on her.
The deleted tweet had to do with who DemiDirt is and Demi saying that she thought she knew, but now she doesn’t.
Going back to Demi, she lets people in way too fast. I’ve had friends get access to Demi information in the easiest fcking way possible.
Demi is the type of person that wants to help people around her to make up for her personal issues. For example, Demi struggles with substance abuse so when she can’t fix that about herself, she’ll try to make a difference by helping out friends money-wise.

Going back to Marissa, as I said, I was told that Marissa is a bad influence on Demi and when I asked my source to elaborate, she just said “Demi struggles with drugs and Marissa has been known in the past not to help with that. She has triggered her in some way before and sometimes did things that made Demi feel like she needs to get high to have fun.”
Yikes.
Demi’s struggle with drugs has taken a toll on a lot of relationships in her life so it’s not like she’s a saint to deal with. When Demi wanted to get high or was high, she was a nuisance to put up with so kudos to those who helped/put up with her, but even then, this doesn’t excuse Marissa’s actions.
So many people are so quick to use Dmei’s struggles against her and this is why Demi said she doesn’t even want to share that part of her life with anyone anymore. The funny part is that Demi’s struggles make it EASY to take advantage of her. It’s not like her struggles hurt anyone else except her.
Marissa had no business leaking information on Demi and basically living off of her yet not having her back, to begin with.
I’m trying to emphasize that even though Marissa and Demi’s fallout occurred around the time that Demi overdosed in 2018, the overdose wasn’t the sole issue and it wasn’t just the issue of drugs. She was never a good friend to her when Demi started becoming more famous and popular.
And honestly, you can see that in her Facebook status. She did have serious jealousy problems considering she was rambling about how people only had an interest in her if Demi was involved.
At the end of the day, Demi is the big exposer after all. Some celebrities spill tea through their publicists, Demi does it through her music.
Literally… she even tweeted this:
Hopefully she still exposes everyone like she was promising in 2018 even though she’s happy and engaged now.
Lastly, I’m just going to quote what I was told:
“A specific story that I can remember is when Marissa was telling ——- something that Demi didn’t want anyone else knowing and at the time ——- and Demi weren’t on speaking terms. They’re fine now. I’ve also seen Marissa give what I think identifies as backhanded compliments. Sometimes she would be so fake to her face and Demi wouldn’t even realize. Yes Marissa was a nice friend to her, but honestly the bad outweighed the good as time went on.
When they stopped talking, Demi was hurt and she felt like the whole world turned on her. She was so lonely and I rememeber telling you that this was around the time she wasn’t friends with Nick either. —-- tried to speak to Demi and tell her that going back to drugs and partying in the club until 3 am isn’t okay and Demi thought she could handle it. She was so difficult to get to. Addict behavior, nothing new with her. Unfortunately she overdosed shortly after.
If you’re interested, another story I have is when Demi was getting really bad and on the verge of relapsing and Marissa wasn’t exactly avaliable. This was a couple of years ago. I don’t remember that causing a drift between them, but I’ve also heard several times that Marissa would sh-t talk Demi. Add that on with the leaking information too. Such a toxic friendship, but let me know if you need more details.”
Yikes. Well good thing they’re no longer in each other’s lives. Marissa claims there’s “two sides to every story” but I don’t see how the core points I’ve made in this post can be explained from her side.
One of my Demi sources who first told me about Marissa also said that everyone in Demi’s circle during that time was so fake to her and basically doing the same thing Marissa was doing. They also hated Demi’s mom and elaborated on some family issues, but I was told not to reveal… I was like oh damn.
So that’s kind of it. There’s a lot of information to digest here so I hope I was able to clear up your curiosity on what happened between Demi and Marissa and explain things a little bit more.
