The Girls Are Coming: Selena Gomez's Spanish Single, Ariana Grande's 34+35 Remix with Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat, and Demi Lovato's Upcoming Documentary

Selena Gomez has returned to music as a new woman—a Spanish singing woman. Today she unveiled her cover art and single title for De Una Vez which means ‘Once And For All’ in English.
This lead single is supposed to be from her upcoming Spanish album that has been rumored for quite some time.
It’s a sultry romantic love song that’s very calm and very vibey. It contains lyrics that talk about healing from a past love.
Once again, it’s rumored to be about Justin Bieber. Her fans have managed to compare her burning a polaroid photo to the last time she posted a polaroid picture of Justin for his birthday, on her Instagram when they initially broke all ties together about three years ago.

She’s already facing some criticism for jumping on the bandwagon and releasing a Spanish record because of how dominant the genre has become for the past couple of years. She even dug up one of her older tweets as a quirky testament to how she’s always wanted to do Spanish music:
She’s even been dragged for putting on a “Latina costume” which is basically a flowly and floral dress with flowers in her hair (‘costume’ is used in this context as a mockery).
My personal thoughts:
I don’t really care about her doing Spanish music, everyone does it. It’s the business and it’s their job. Obviously, she’s going to jump on the trend. Selena even did Taki Taki a couple of years back. It’s part of her heritage so if she wants to fully claim it suddenly, why not?
The aesthetic of this upcoming era looks really pretty and pleasing. What I am looking forward to is a Selena era WITHOUT any Bieber influence as this would be her literal… FIRST. Every other era was accompanied by Bieber drama and influence so this is literally a new chapter for her and I’m interested to see how she’s going to pull it off.
The thing is if we sit here and rip her apart for the lyrics about healing from a past love (a constant boring theme with her—yes), it’s not really fair because everyone sings about love and healing in general. The only difference with Selena is that she MARKETS her era around Justin and their relationship from 54 decades ago.
Key work: MARKETING. I’ve preached about this several times when talking about Selena and I’m still met with the same tired excuse of “well Justin sings about her” and it’s the idea that sure, go ahead and share your experience, but Selena has notably marketed and revolved her entirety of an era about Justin to the point where he’s called out by name. That was my main issue with her.
And it’s weird ass behavior if she markets this era to be once again about a married man with whom they’ve broken all public contact together like three years ago.
As for now… I don’t see anything wrong with this era… yet.
I did see people saying that she’s going to sing about Justin in every single language and I’m gonna be honest with you… yeah I fcking laughed out of loud.
The era is giving Camila Cabello’s debut era tease, but I don’t mind it. Camila was more in your face with her style while Selena is just quiet and sultry. I think it’s a cute song… I like it.

Regarding Selena’s looks and health, there are no new updates besides the same old cycle that Selena has been in since we last explained in 2020.
We even broke a story about Selena reportedly living in a sober home in secret. At the time, this was from a new source, but we can actually confirm this information now.
Like I said, Selena’s health is a vicious cycle of treatment -> return to bad habits -> repeat. It’s been a constant theme with her on this blog and as you guys can see, we’ve reached the point where Selena is barely seen. She’s giving Zayn Malik tease with her complete isolation that is only broken by her control.
Also, due to her health conditions and addiction, she literally can’t afford to get COVID hence why she and her team have taken certain precautions to assure that she won’t be exposed to anything. This is why everything has been controlled from her side where she wasn’t on any set that wasn’t exclusively hers.
Slowly, celebrities have started appearing on interviews and magazines in person, while Selena is part of the group that literally CAN’T. The set must be exclusive to her (magazine shoot, cooking show, and so on).

Ariana Grande has announced the 34+35 remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion & Doja Cat. This remix has also been rumored for a few days and it’s finally here.
She will be battling Selena Gomez on the charts since they’re releasing at the same time, but from the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like it will be any battle. I guess only time will tell!
Ariana’s relevancy and social media power attests to how well she can transition from era and era as well as having the best slots every single time. What’s smart about Ariana is that she tends to grab onto whatever relevant thing is taking the world by storm and capitalizing off of it. It’s excellent marketing and I’ve seen it work flawlessly in her favor.

For her name to constantly be associated with past musical legends (Lady Gaga) as well as upcoming dominant stars (Megan & Doja Cat), demonstrates a perfect tune of adapting to the insanely changing music industry.
Collabs in general are made to expose the person to a wider audience because you’re bringing 2 or more audiences together. Ariana’s collabs are constantly RELEVANT. Take her past work with Nicki Minaj for example.

When Nicki and Ariana first started working together, they didn’t get along nor were they these close besties that everyone thought they were. They worked together because it’s good for business. Throughout time, everyone expected a collab from them and it was widely successful so that’s what they delivered on.
Nowadays, she’s not really collabing with Nicki because it’s not benefitting either of them anymore. There are more popular and hotter stars to collab with such as Megan & Doja Cat (can you call her Doja only or do u have to include the cat? 🙄).
They have a song called Motive as well that’s on the Positions album.
Again, it’s a marketing tactic. It’s also extremely beneficial for the stars that Ariana collabs with because she has incredible selling power and she’s very relevant. It’s why she collabed with Lady Gaga to begin with and wasn’t that horrendous song, Gaga’s first #1 hit in years?
Now I was planning on making a whole post about Ariana and this topic because I have some tea on how she’s marketed and all the new music that tends to follow her in a short time so, let me know if you guys are interested.
As for my personal thoughts on the remix:
It’s cute but highly forgetful. While writing this section of the post, I played it like 5 times and you can’t catch me remembering any part of it. Selena’s song is lowkey stuck in my head, but you ain’t hear that from me. 34+35 is a bop, but it’s not my cup of tea. I can have it playing in the background, but it bores me and it was one of my least fave songs on Positions. I think my favorite is her collab with Doja Cat, Motive.

Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil (docu-series)
Demi Lovato recently announced her highly anticipated documentary that is coming to expose the craziness that has been her life since her overdose in 2018 until now.
Just like every project with Demi, I am always intrigued to hear what she has to spill because she tends to expose the uncomfortable truth no matter what. And when it comes to documentaries, she isn’t your average cookie-cutter “the fame is so hard for me :(“ celebrity documentary. It’s raw. It’s real. It’s interesting.
We’ve been spilling a lot of tea about Demi as of recently (check out the Demi tag here), so I am confident that a lot of things we’ve said will be confirmed.
With that being said, there are a lot of extra details that I could reveal that will be included in Demi’s documentary, but I’ve been asked by my source to withhold that information as that is 1. source sensitive and 2. exclusive to the documentary.
I don’t mind holding my tongue as I’ve had a lot of practice lately with the comment section being overly dramatic as of late.
I guess we can only discuss it after its release which will be on March 23 on Youtube!
The documentary has been selected as the headlining opening night film at SXSW which is a huge deal for Demi. This could launch her into even more acclaim and give her an opportunity to grab some prestigious nominations/awards in the future. I told the Lovatics to pipe the fck down about Scooter and her management team lmaooo I saw some clowns wishing for Phil to come back… smh. Patience my friends.
I also love the name of the documentary. Demi tends to lack in the planning of an “era” and what makes it up, so I’m happy that this name is intriguing. I have high hopes for D7 and I believe it will be her most successful to date. She has been notably held back by her management in the past so her signing with one of the smartest managers in the industry is good for her.
