Meghan Markle is No Princess Diana: Palace Staff Call Prince Harry and Meghan "Outrageous Bullies"
CBS
If youβre here for a sappy fairytale praising of the modern-day Cinderella & Prince Charming, youβre not going to get it. If youβre here to bring up irrelevant points that arenβt backed up by any facts, save yourself the headache.
But if youβre here for the always-unpleasant truth, welcome, youβre in the right place.
Weβve been covering the story of Meghan Markle & Prince Harry for almost a year now at ESMG. From Meghanβs plot to infiltrate the royal family and make up for a failed acting career; to Harryβs lack of responsibility and personal issues that he clearly hasnβt worked out, we constantly see these 2 facing scrutiny in the press as they play a tug-of-war fight between narratives.
Last year in July, we exclusively reported that Meghan & Harry are in cahoots with Oprah Winfrey in order to get a βTell Allβ interview.
That was later confirmed in February when their interview basically broke the Internet and was said to be the βTV event of the year.β
CBS
In short, Oprah always wanted the in on the royal family and this was her way to get it. She helped the couple when they made the hop to the states after their controversial exit. And as I told you guys before, nothing is done for free in Hollywood. How could they pay her back? With a tell interview of course. They tell their story and Oprah gets to broadcast it.
Days before their interview with Oprah, The Times reported explosive news of how the couple were βoutrageous bulliesβ to their royal aids.
Hereβs everything you need to know:
The Times reports that the staff was bullied and βsome reduced to tears.β A source claims that βthey were humiliated by her on a number of occasionsβ and that two personal assistants were driven away from the job.
This has been a bubbling story ever since the royal wedding. A source even spoke to TheSun and said that the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, told Meghan not to βberate the staff.β
Meghanβs PA Quitting After the royal wedding
In December 2018, Meghanβs personal assistant, Melissa Toubati, resigned just six months after the royal wedding.
GETTY/SUPPLIED
A source told the Mirror that, βHer job was highly Βpressurised and in the end it became too much. She put up with quite a lot. Meghan put a lot of demands on her and it ended up with her in tears.β
βShe is hugely talented and played a pivotal role in the success of the royal wedding. Sheβll be missed by everyone in the household.β
"Melissa is a total professional and fantastic at her job, but things came to a head and it was easier for them both to go their separate ways.β
Melissa has worked for Robbie Williams and Madonna and was noted as one of the best in business. Melissa now works with the billionaire Livingstone family.
Melissaβs departure was just one out of the many complaints that the royal staff was exposing. Another source described Meghan as βdictatorialβ as she was emailing staff demanding things at 5 am.
Sussex Royalβs Staff Leaving After Their Wedding
Royal biographer Robert Jobson wrote that Harry became βpetulantβ since Meghanβs wedding preparations were so stressful.
He wrote, βRaising his voice on Βoccasion, Harry would insist: βWhat Meghan wants, she gets.ββ
A different royal source defended Meghan by saying that, βShe is simply not afraid to express her opinion. While many find her a little pushy there are many in the royal household who have quickly taken to her.β
At the time, the palace declined to comment.
Amy Pickerill who was handpicked and appointed as Meghanβs assistant private secretary also stepped down in 2019.
The news came after she was supposed to succeed Samantha Cohen who was working for the Royal Family for 17 years.
Meghanβs bodyguard at the time who hasnβt been named also stepped down after working for her for less than a year.
Back to what The Times Reported
In late 2017, a senior aide spoke to Meghan & Harry about the difficulties caused by their treatment of staff. It is believed that Meghan said, βItβs not my job to coddle people.β
To coddle someone means to treat them in an indulgent or overprotective way.
Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the writers of βFinding Freedom,"β which Meghan was exposed to giving information, wrote that, βAmericans can be much more direct, and that often doesnβt sit well in the much more refined institution of the monarchy.β
Insiders argued that Meghanβs behavior was different than just the regular ole forward American behavior
They wrote that a former staff member said, βI had unpleasant experiences with her. I would definitely say humiliated.β
At the time of all the complaints, Jason Knauf, who was Meghan & Harryβs communications secretary, made a bullying complaint. Another member of the staff felt βsickβ as they feared that Meghan was going to find out that they put in a complaint.
A different source says that, βThere were a lot of broken people. Young women were broken by their behavior.β They said that a different staff member was βcompletely destroyed.β
A different source told a colleague that they are βoutrageous bullies,β to which the colleague agreed.
Another source said that they treated Samantha Cohen terribly. βNothing was ever good enough. It was, βShe doesnβt understand, sheβs failing.ββ
Samantha Cohen never came out to say anything, probably because she has worked with the Royal Family for 17 years and didnβt see a point in selling out information.
Another source told the staff during the Sussexesβ autumn tour in 2018 that, βYou are dealing with a very difficult lady.β
The Times reports an alternative view from a different source that claims that βMeghan craved rejection from the moment she walked into Kensington Palace, and that nothing that anyone did would ever be good enough.β
They explain that the palace knew that when Harry married a biracial American woman who was once divorced, it was going to be easy to flip the narrative on them and claim that the palace made it difficult for her because of her background.
What do we see today?
Exactly that.
Iβm not saying the British press wasnβt mean to herβthey were. They picked at every little thing and thatβs why Meghan was able to capitalize off of that. However, you canβt sit here and assess all the facts and claim that Meghan was a victim. Reports of how mean and rude Meghan was to everyone have been running rampant for years now. Itβs easy to forget an article that cites a source vs. an interview where youβre seeing it in action, but that doesnβt mean that you can rewrite the narrative here (my readers know thatβs my pet peeve).
CBS
A large majority of my audience is American and I often deal with the American media but lemme tell you something, the American media is delusional and I call them publicist central because they often report what celebrity publicists want them to report. This goes for the mainstream media such as E!, US Weekly, People, and so on. If you want the truth, you have to scour for it because theyβre only going to report bubblegum bullsh!t. Iβm telling you this because Iβve been covering American celebrities for years now and I know the ins and outs of the industry, especially the media.
A source tells The Times, βEveryone knew that the institution would be judged by her happiness. The mistake they made was thinking she wanted to be happy. She wanted to be rejected because she was obsessed with that narrative from day one.β
If I could summarize Meghan in one paragraph, it would be that statement. Take a look at part 1 of our Meghan and Harry series. What did we talk about? How Meghan was unhappy with literally everything. Her lawyers said that this is all wrong and that Meghan wished to fit in and be accepted into her role, but what were her ACTIONS??
I hate the palace so Iβm moving to Frogmore Cottage. I hate your brother. And his fcking wife too. And I hate your grandmother. And I hate traveling on local planes with peasants even though I was a D-list actress who was lucky to even have a car drive me around. So what am I going to do? Request private planes on taxpayer money while still not wanting to do what my role is, but live out my failed Hollywood acting dreams.
Not once did Meghan try to adapt to what her role was⦠A PUBLIC SERVANT OF THE ROYAL FAMILY.
So when did she try to be accepted???
She was complaining since day 1. She never complied with the rules that were already there. You think the Royal Familyβs rules are stupid? Fine, but you married into that family knowing your role but not wanting to fulfill it. So why go along? Come on, we all know the answer to that.
She wanted to climb the social ladder by clinging to a privileged prince who doesnβt know how to process his own emotions.
Nobody is saying that Harry didnβt want to leave. He did, but whose terms did he do it on? Meghanβs.
A different source says that, βShe wanted to be the victim because then she could convince Harry that it was an unbearable experience and they had no choice but to move to America.β
Another source says, βThe way I see it, their view of not getting institutional support was that they were not getting permission to blow up the institutionβs relationships with the media.β
It all goes back to the narrative tug-of-war. Meghan was practically paralyzed by the fact that she couldnβt send her publicist out to plant a fake story to overshadow the uncomfortable truth like she was used to in Hollywood, aka land of the hollow and fake.
Get this, The Times reported that the palace even tried to help her acting dreams in hopes of this marriage not going south. Hereβs what they said:
One conversation confirmed to The Times seems to reveal how much the palace was prepared to go out of its way to help Meghan. Before the wedding, the couple had a meeting with a senior aide who told them that the palace was doing everything it could to help and there was no need to think she had to take on her role in a particular way, a source said. If she was passionate about the acting world, they could help her to think about finding a role within the film industry.
The source said: βThe entire place, because of everything about her, and because of what Harryβs previous girlfriends had been through, was bending over backwards to make sure that every option was open.β They said Meghan thanked them, but said she had no wish to carry on acting. Instead she wanted to concentrate on her humanitarian and philanthropic work, and to support Harry as a member of the royal family.
So they saidβ¦ heyβ¦ since youβre so hellbent on continuing your acting dreams, weβll help you. But Meghan didnβt want that. She didnβt want to act and wanted to be humanitarian.
Another source says that, βWhen someone decides not to be civil, they have no idea what to do. They were run over by her, and then run over by Harry. They had no idea what to do.β
In response to all of this, Meghanβs representatives gave E! News an official statement that says:
"The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma."
The statement continued, "She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good."
They also write that:
In response to the accusations, Meghan and Harry's lawyers said The Times was "being used by Buckingham Palace to peddle a wholly false narrative" before the Sussexes give their highly anticipated tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey on March 7.
Buckingham Palace said that they will be launching an official investigation.
The Sussexes also claim that they are the victims of a βcalculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation.β
The ongoing issue now is that the staff felt like the palace was protecting Meghan & Harry at all means and inturn turning a blind eye to a toxic workplace.
As I already stated, in October 2018 Jason Knauf apparently tried to get Buckingham Palace to protect staff who he claimed were coming under pressure from the duchess, but a source says that Harry pleaded with Knauf not to pursue the complaint.
And the truth is, the palace wouldnβt have wanted these claims to come out because it reflects badly on them that the staff was suffering and nothing was done to protect the workplace environment.
A senior aide claims that the actions of Meghan were βmore like emotional cruelty and manipulation, which I guess could also be called bullying.β
The complaint ended up going to HR but a source says that they felt like the institution didnβt want to address the problem, but rather make it go away.
The Times reports that:
Another source claimed: βSenior people in the household, Buckingham Palace and Clarence House, knew that they had a situation where members of staff, particularly young women, were being bullied to the point of tears.
βThe institution just protected Meghan constantly. All the men in grey suits who she hates have a lot to answer for, because they did absolutely nothing to protect people.β
So is this done on purpose to combat the tell all interview?
I already know that you guys are going to ask this and the answer is yes. Iβd be delusional to act like the timing of this is coincidental.
My sources and I believe that this is of course a retaliation, but I would not say itβs a smear campaign like Meghanβs camp is claiming.
By definition, a smear campaign is an βeffort to damage or call into question someone's reputation, by propounding negative propaganda.β
News of how mistreated their staff was has been circulating around for years now and itβs coming to light because of Meghan & Harryβs controversial interview. They canβt expect to do and say whatever they want (especially when there is sufficient evidence against them) and then cry βsmear campaignβ when the truth comes out to light.
Iβm all for Meghan and Harry telling their side, do you boo! However, if you canβt handle the heat then get out of the kitchen. Canβt play the game? Donβt.
Them being upset at the responses is the equivalent of me getting upset when I publish an article and then see negative comments. If I have the right to even publish an article and say my peace, then everyone else has that same right to express their opinions or say their peace.
Are most of yβall wrong? Sure, but that is my humble opinion.
All Iβm saying is, this isnβt the first time Meghan has faced accusations of bullying or just being a horrible person to work with.
Here are messages between me and my source about the interview drama:
I didnβt know where else to include the Barbara Walters information so yeahβ¦ sheβs 91, so wishing her the best.
Back to Meghan & Harryβ¦
Meghanβs Oprah outfit has been compared to Wallis Simpson whom Prince Harryβs great-uncle King Edward VIII abdicated the throne to marry.

I donβt know if thatβs done on purpose or not, but then again everything seems way too calculated with her.
My source also brings up the similarities between Meghanβs look with the dark eyeliner in comparison to Princess Dianaβs controversial Martin Bashir interview in 1995.
Meghan Markle is no Princess Diana
Here are my thoughts on the whole βMeghan is going through what Diana didβ comments.
Dianaβs experience within the Royal Family was widely different from Meghanβs experience. For one, Diana was hounded by the paparazzi and her privacy was invaded on an extreme level. She was followed everywhere she went and to my fellow pop-culture addicts, her situation with the press was similar to Britney Spears.
Diana also dealt with a lot of mental health issues such as depression and she was even cutting herself at one point. Her biographers have even expressed opinions that she may have suffered from borderline personality disorder. Prince Charles was cheating on her and neglecting her from the start. The Royal Family faced criticism over the fact that they sided with Charles and ignored Diana for the most part. I havenβt researched Diana as much as I would have liked it, so donβt quiz me too much in the comment section.
Meghan on the other hand didnβt deal with this. The paparazzi never hounded her and Harry was on her side for EVERYTHING.
Meghan wanted to pursue her Hollywood dreams while Diana truly wanted to lead a philanthropic life. Thatβs what Harry wants as well. When he wanted to leave, it wasnβt to go βcoddleβ celebrities in Beverly Hills. I canβt say the same for Meghan.
Diana cried herself to sleep with depression but Meghan was upset over not being able to send out publicists to speak on her behalf and instead sent out her friends to People Magazine.
Comparing Meghan to Diana is like comparing Britney to some irrelevant newcomer with no impact. Just because one person was a victim, doesnβt mean that another one was.
I said something of the sort on Twitter and everyone was crying like AND WHO ARE YOU TO TELL HARRY HE CANβT TALK ABOUT HIS MOMMY?
I never said he couldnβt. But because heβs delusional and brainwashed by a Hollywood actress, doesnβt mean we have to kiss his feet because he still has mommy issues that were clearly never worked out. Itβs pitiful that Meghan is capitalizing on Dianaβs sad story. Thatβs all there is to it.
Diana not being protected is highly different than Meghanβs so-called lack of protection. Her staff wasnβt protected from the vile workplace that she led and the palace was tiptoeing around her for Harryβs sake, but her highness was mad that she couldnβt control the narrative in the press.
Hereβs what my source has to say about Harry:
Itβs just the truth.
This post is already so long, but I want to add one last piece of information.
A different source mine that has given me information throughout the years has always worked in between LA and Canada. She was moved to Canada for a few projects and she was one of the sources behind the Riverdale information I spilled a few years back. Anyways, she didnβt work on the set that Meghan worked on when filming Suits, but she was on a nearby lot for something else. A friend of hers described Meghan as βsomeone who acts like they are the most famous person in the room and yet she wasnβt anywhere close to that.β
Do with that information what you will.
Let me know what you guys think about the allegations that Meghan and Harry are facing. What do you think is going to be exposed in the interview with Oprah?
