Usually when it comes to shade, I’m on the other side, writing about how Selena is shading someone else. But nope, today we are talking about Britney Spears shading Selena Gomez. Btw, this post is officially updated as of October 29 ,where I included Britney’s response to the hate.

Britney took to Instagram to say “The next time I see someone with a big budget video sucking on lollipops yet giving righteous speeches shaming other women for exposing their bodies … don’t be a hypocrite.”

And what makes this ultra-specific to Selena is when she references Selena’s 2016 AMA speech, "I don't want to see your bodies on Instagram."

Britney seems to mention Selena in the Ice Cream music video — “4 million dollar budget videos made about sucking and licking on homemade ice cream.”

They also unfollowed each other in September.

Apparently, Britney blocked Selena because Selena was later untagged from a photo that she was originally tagged in:

And in September, she made obvious references to Selena’s 2016 AMA speech: “broken inside” “girls who show their bodies”

Obviously this comes as a shock to everyone especially since Selena fans were happy with this surprising friendship between Britney & Selena when Selena came to Britney’s wedding.

However, Britney and Selena aren’t friends like that. I know everyone thinks they are because Britney posted a few things in support of Selena and Selena was also at her wedding.

Selena is just really nice to Britney, especially on social media. She’s written her messages before and they’ve briefly talked. That’s my bet as to why Selena was even invited to Britney’s wedding to that fame-sucking leech.

And Britney has shown public support for Selena A LOT. Delusional Selena stans take this as “fan behavior,” but the only thing you’re not seeing is Selena reaching out to Britney behind the scenes.

Selena even sent her some Rare beauty to which Britney was super excited to share on Instagram.

As for their “beef” right now… there isn’t any.

I believe that Britney recently came across Selena's old speech and felt like she had to say something publicly, especially with Britney's recent Instagram posts.

Keep in mind that Britney wasn't allowed free Internet access in the past years so now that she is on the Internet again, she is coming across things that happened years ago.

I don't think the Selena & Britney beef is that deep. I think Britney believes Selena said that comment recently and may believe she's shading her? I don't know, but Britney just got Internet access and it's like an overstimulation of information all at once.

Now is not the time for Selenators to do the Selenator special and harass Britney like they do to every other celebrity. Britney is a damaged woman with severe trauma. Her calling out someone as a hypocrite isn't the hurtful drag you think it is. It's not that serious.

If Britney posted that in 2016, everyone would applaud her. Sure she is a few years late to the game, but as I said, she had restricted Internet access. Sure it's random of her to call out Selena but she probably thinks Selena said this recently and is shading her.

Here’s the thing with Selena, she has a very lengthy past that consists of her being hateful and problematic, which she disguised pretty well.

It’s not shocking if Britney feels played by Selena especially if she’s under the impression that Selena made that comment recently. And this is the second time Britney seems to bring up that speech. She probably found out that Selena is fake and feels some type of way, especially when she called out her “conservative diplomatic voice.”

Also, Selena has a knack for shit talking her friends so if Britney found out she was talking badly about her then… that’s something.

Just because Selena rebranded as a feminist, doesn’t mean we didn’t have to sit through the years & agony of Selena’s random Instagram sprees, which usually involve her liking a post about how much hotter/better/classier she is than other girls.

Britney ended up deleting her rant.

Britney is someone who is stuck at the age that she got traumatized. Think of her social media usage as a child who just got access to unlimited candy.

She acts like a teenager, she posts like a teenager, and she gets offended like a teenager. I’ve been saying this for a while now, Britney is someone with severe trauma, and getting all this freedom back at once is extremely stimulating for her.

And her “shading” Selena is not Britney “out to get Selena.”

Just the past few months there was all this drama with her posts on Christina Aguilera where she was body shaming her, calling her out for not standing up for and so much more.

She literally said “I mean if I had Christina Aguilera’s dancers I would have looked extremely small” LMAOOO

Then she apologized

Britney is new to the Internet, she doesn’t know that every little thing being said nowadays is offensive to everyone especially when she’s stuck at a time when celebrities said and did outrageous things all the time.

I was talking to a source about this the other day and they told me that because Britney is trying to pick up where she originally left at that point in time with the industry, it’s like she thinks she’s there right now. To the point where my source said “I’m sure she thinks she’s still feuding with Xtina hence her posts about her. It’s like flashbacks with her.”

This is also why I don’t take what Britney posts seriously. I was the first one to tell my unpopular opinion that life isn’t gonna be all sunshine & rainbows for her with her new freedom because she is bound to get herself into trouble somehow.

I am also aware that her conservatorship isn’t completely over and she’s not 100% free, but you guys get what I mean. She barely had Internet access and now almost everything was given back to her all at once.

I don’t think Selena is offended by Britney either. She’s probably shook that someone of a big status is calling her out, especially after her I-love-women-hashtag-feminism rebrand.

Everyone knows Britney is going through it and it’s hard for her to adjust to the modern-day life of social media when her life was taken from her at a time when social media didn’t exist.

UPDATE:

Britney withdrew her statement in a very manic episode where she goes on this entire rant about how she loves Selena and that she would NEVER say anything like that.

All in all, this is a desperate last-minute attempt by her PR people to help her fix the situation because she got a lot of hate from Selena’s unhinged fans.

Her comments were extremely specific to Selena and that doesn’t explain why she blocked or untagged her from those photos in September, but go off damage control!

Either way, my original point still stands.
