Selena Gomez tells Benny Blanco he wouldn’t have liked the old her after kissing his toes
If you had told me in 2016 that in 10 years Selena Gomez’s ego would be humbled so badly that she’d be kissing Benny Blanco’s toes for everyone to see and telling him he wouldn’t have liked the old her… I don’t know if I would’ve believed you.
And that’s coming from someone whose criticism of Selly was well documented, so you can only imagine those who truly believed the facade she put on for years.

Anyway, on the “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast hosted by Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky (Dave Burd), and Kristin Batalucco… Selena interrupts Benny mid-sentence and kisses his toes, then proceeds to snuggle them:

Now that’s a sentence nobody thought I would write.
It’s something that nobody thought Selena would ever do because Benny isn’t conventionally attractive or of “her standards” as deemed by social media, which put this woman on a pedestal for a decade.
For years, the internet pushed this idea that someone with Selena’s level of fame and beauty had to be with someone equally polished, equally camera-ready, and fitting a very specific Hollywood image.
What the podcast shows is that Selena loves Benny A LOT. And it’s what I’ve been telling you since they got together.
Benny has disarmed Selena, so she’s not defensive in front of him. She doesn’t have her guard up; she is fully herself.
If that means kissing his toes because she’s overwhelmed by love for him… then that’s what she’s going to do.
This also comes after Benny faced backlash for how dirty his feet were, causing a massive uproar on the previous podcast episode. So come the next one… Selena stood in solidarity with his dirty feet, making sure everyone knew that it didn’t bother her.
In that same podcast episode with Selena, Benny talks about how he can’t believe how long it’s taken for him and Selena to get together.
To which Selena tells him that he wouldn’t have liked her back then… during the era everyone claimed was Selena’s “baddie” era:
She definitely was a baddie on the outside, but she was going through it on the outside.
Selena nowadays is like a reborn angel. Don’t get me wrong—she is messy and will occasionally show up drunk to Wondermind meetings when she finally does show up, and don’t mention the Bieber last name or you’re going to see a historic volcanic eruption. But aside from that… she’s in her lover-girl, “I am in love with life” era.

The reason why Selena is this down bad for Benny publicly is because for years, she was starved of stable love and a clear mental headspace.
But the fact that she says he wouldn’t have liked the old Selena confirms everything I’ve told you over the years.
The old “baddie” Selena was condescending, vengeful, very bitter—someone who lashed out a lot and was constantly stirring up trouble.
She would have scoffed at Benny because her ego was so high. She probably would have fought one of her loyal gal pals if they even recommended she go out with Benny, and followed it with a, “ME?! Go out with… THAT?!”
And that’s another thing that leads into the never-ending Bieber saga, with Hailey taking Selena’s spot (as she saw it)… Jelena was toxic as hell. It almost killed both of them, and its revival literally put Selena’s mother in the hospital.
But Selena’s ego couldn’t handle that “a loser” was going to take THE Justin Bieber (yes, that’s how she saw him) away from her
And that stalled Selena’s progress for years because she was always plotting and planning instead of working on herself and attracting a loving, stable partner. She was too busy attracting a feud with Hailey.
This isn’t to pretend like Justin didn’t drive her crazy… he had his own long list of problems that have followed him everywhere he went.
But I’m specifically talking about the change we see in Selena, and you’d have to be deluded if you think we can just jump over the Bieber train wreckage on the path to the new Selena.
Have I ever come to you with information telling you that Selena Gomez, of all people, is this chill girlie who spends her free time kissing her husband’s dirty toes? (I mean honestly… they were dirty…)
I have always told you across a decade that Selena was either doing so many drugs that it almost led her to her deathbed, and she had an alleged OD during the years where the bitterness inside her had consumed her.
And people forget that these very real things that we all go through (maybe not to the same extent as Sel) have the ability to change a person. God, life, and circumstances will humble you so fast that you’re going to become a new person.
Or in the case of Selena… a clone.

In conclusion, Selena had an ego death.
She is in a happy and stable marriage where she feels so authentic to herself that she’s kissing dirty toes for everyone to see.
She’s self-aware enough to admit that she was a menace back in the day—and not in the “baddie” way everyone romanticizes.
Oh, and don’t say I didn’t tell you so. Did I expect to wait a decade to see my information—and the play-by-play I told you would happen—actually take place? No. But I stuck around long enough to see it, and you should too.
