Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik went from having a high profile relationship to slowly fading out as time went on. Are they together? Are they not? That’s all their fans would say because through their association since late 2015, all we’ve been getting are scattered spottings. Well… to be honest, they only started getting scattered ever since they formally announced their breakup in March 2018. Now, she’s pregnant! That was announced in April of this year.
So let’s talk. Is it PR? Is it a mistake? Are they both on drugs? Are they genuinely together? What’s going on? We’re here to answer all your questions.

Zayn and Gigi were first linked together in November 2015 when they were spotted leaving Justin Bieber’s 2015 AMA after party.

US weekly claimed that they were dating. At this point, Zayn was saying that Gigi and him are just good friends. However, in January 2016, Gigi is photographed with Zayn as her lockscreen.
On January 28, 2016, Zayn dropped his highly anticipated lead single, Pillowtalk, which also marked his first drop since he randomly quit One Direction in March 2015.
Who was in the video? Gigi.
Then they exchanged some rather cringeworthy tweets about the video.
In April 2016, they did a spread together in Naples for Vogue in which Zayn was called Gigi’s “real-life boyfriend.” Whatever that means.

Then in May 2016, they attended the Met Gala together and made a lot of headlines for their look and the public display of affection that they showed each other.

I think my favorite part of that outing was when he was coaching her on what to do. “Look at me, touch my face.”
No literally, that’s what he said if you watch this video.
Zayn was always seen leaving her NYC apartment. She was seen leaving his London home. They would attend a bunch of fashion related events together. They were practically photographed every day.
2016 was arguably their year. They had a very high profile relationship, Zayn had a lot of hype surrounding him because that was his year completely away from One Direction who were HUGE, and Gigi was really breaking out in the modeling world.

I’m going to say what I told you before—Zayn and Gigi were a fake relationship. I’m talking under a PR contract and everything. And quite frankly, it’s obvious. From this short timeline above that isn’t their complete comprehensive timeline, you could tell.
I first exposed their relationship in 2016 where I also demonstrated more of their fake outings such as the paparazzi pictures we got while they were in their hotel room. Like how does that even work?
One time, Gigi foolishly responded to the “fake relationship” rumors, but then deleted her tweets because all she did was basically confirm the suspicion.
Both Zayn and Gigi had something to benefit from this relationship. She was trying to make a name for herself and he was trying to establish individuality. Leaving a band is always tricky because it’s always a question of “do they support ME or the band?” You guys can even see that some One Direction members have struggled to create a relevant solo career. Same with some members of Fifth Harmony.
But what do the ones who first left the pack always do? Get into a fake relationship. Zayn did it with Gigi. And Camila Cabello did it with Shawn Mendes.

I’m not going to talk much about their former PR because I know you guys want the tea on the pregnancy and we’re getting there! But it’s important to establish their background especially since some of you tried to call me out as a liar because I said they were fake at one point. No lies here! Going back to them, real celebrity relationships aren’t always accompanied by a music video cameo, a Vogue spread, and endless paparazzi photos of them at fashion events. That alone shows how strictly business their relationship was. Let me not get started on the TIMING of it all.
Notice how Zayn was saying they were just friends yet his reps were saying they were dating. It’s all about that mystery-don’t-confirm-the-romance-yet-keep-the-fans-feening-for-more-first tactic that they all use.
Who remembers when Gigi didn’t even know where Zayn was from? I guess the breakdown of his nationality wasn’t discussed at the first meeting.
In January 2017, the media went crazy debating whether or not Gigi was engaged because she was spotted with a ring on her ring finger.
Personally, I can barely see anything on Gigi’s ring finger, but let’s talk about someone important in all of this—Yolanda Hadid, her momanger. At that time, I heard from several sources that Yolanda proposed a… proposal! Something about “doing more” because they were getting a bit boring.
I think Zayn’s team rejected the idea because he was engaged to Perrie Edwards from Little Mix not too long before so it doesn’t reflect that good on their relationship. It’s like 2 engagements in less than 2 years? What’s wrong with you dude?

Yolanda is like a fame sucking machine. She strives to be bigger and better. And by bigger, I don’t mean in body weight! I’m sure we’ve all seen that clip of her harassing Gigi NOT to eat. If I were to describe Yolanda, I’d say that she wants what’s good for business.
In August 2017, they did another shoot for Vogue alongside Gigi’s brother, Anwar. It was a means of introducing him into the fashion world as well (another marketing tactic).

Alongside all their photos from the paparazzi that we got from them attending fashion events together, they also did a typical couples costume for Halloween.
As I said, it was a very high profile relationship. Anything that a normal and typical couple did, Zayn and Gigi did it x 10. I’m sure you and your significant other weren’t snatching up these Vogue covers like them.
Suddenly in March 2018, both Zayn and Gigi announced a formal breakup.
What most people don’t remember is how Gigi’s PR people (ahem, Yolanda), spun the breakup.
An excerpt from Gigi’s reps states:
A second source adds that the 23-year-old model “tried hard to make it work,” but the former One Direction member, 25, has “a lot of his own issues that she couldn’t help him get through.”
An insider previously told Us that Hadid and Malik’s relationship “has been very intense” since they reconnected in April.
“She’s really turned into a recluse and has been spending all of her time with him,” the insider noted. “It’s kind of a young love relationship where they’re so infatuated with each other and no one else exists at the moment.”
They wanted to paint Zayn as the one with issues and how Gigi did everything in her power to help him.
That is true… except for one important detail… Gigi was just as messy as Zayn.
Most people don’t remember how Gigi was attention hungry and thirsty for publicity back in the day. She wanted to be spotted with everyone! Cody Simpson. Joe Jonas. And god knows who else. She was just looking for the next famous thing and once Zayn was in the picture, she knew it wasn’t going to get more relevant than that.
Don’t get me wrong, she’s very likable and genuinely is a very nice person, but she didn’t become this household name just because she’s pretty. There’s a lot of pretty girls in the modeling industry so of course you need to differentiate yourself.
She, or rather I say Yolanda, played their marketing technique cards VERY WELL. And there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s something to note.
Through this relationship, Zayn also made himself more well known because Gigi brought him a different audience—the fashion world. Again, it’s all discussed in their first post which I linked.
Some personal tea on their work relationship + their issues
Now from what I know, since they announced their breakup in March 2018, there was no legal contract following that date. And I was told by several of my sources that they did get along during their work relationship. Very well. I was also told countless times that they have both reportedly struggled with a lot of substance abuse. That’s no secret and what I’ve been saying about Zayn and his issues are still the same.
You know how I think of Zayn and his apparent drug use? I think of him as Selena Gomez except I don’t know as much. For all I know, Zayn could have gotten private help here and there, but I just didn’t know. If a local looked at Selena at any given year, they wouldn’t think much of it and I feel like that’s what most people see with Zayn. It’s only because I know so much about Selena that I’m able to pinpoint exactly what’s going on with her at any given point in time (an obsession, some might say). So I think the way they’ve been hiding those struggles are very similar. The only difference is the fact that Selena still works.
I also heard a rumor that Zayn has had several OD scares. I don’t know how true that is because he keeps a VERY LOW PROFILE. Him being in Gigi’s circle alone has opened him up to various sources.
A source once described their dynamic in a way that was kind of toxic and based on emotional dependence. This was a while back in 2018 and 2019 where they would get spotted together here and then, but never a confirmed romance. She said that Zayn and Gigi both reportedly struggled with heavy substance abuse and the high from that work, the stress of the lifestyle, and family difficulties would drive them back to each other.
Many reports also came out to say that Zayn wasn’t faithful to Gigi in the years following their official PR breakup, but I mean that’s not too shocking. If he was “cheating” from 2015-2017, then I don’t care because from what we know, those years were a strict business relationship. However, as you can tell from the paragraph above, that work relationship started to form an emotionally dependent relationship.
Zayn has struggled a lot with his identity, religion, family, and cultural expectations and coming from a fellow Muslim household like him, he was able to connect with Gigi on that level. That and you know… the other thing.
Let’s get into what we all want to know about.
The Sudden Pregnancy
On April 28, it was confirmed that Gigi is pregnant with Zayn’s baby.
TMZ broke the news aka Yolanda did. Apparently, Gigi’s dad didn’t know anything about it until the press got a whiff of it.
The funny part is that Gigi was reportedly dating Tyler Cameron for the majority of 2019.

It was reported by US weekly that they broke up in October 2019. In December 2019, it was speculated that Gigi and Zayn reunited since she was interacting with his mom on Instagram.
Wow… stable!
Like I said, it all goes back to that emotional dependence that they developed with each other. Is it manipulation? Is it toxic? I don’t know, but it’s something that keeps them coming back to each other despite them no longer racking in Vogue covers anymore and quite frankly, fading back to irrelevancy.
As for Tyler and Gigi, I don’t know anything about them. I just found out that his name was Tyler Cameron while researching for this post because that’s how irrelevant that relationship was unless you stan Gigi.

Zayn’s mom reposted a video from an account called “defendzigi” and in the video, Gigi says that her favorite place to eat is her boyfriend’s house.
Gigi also posted a comment on this post:
Since it was confirmed by the end of April that Gigi was almost 5 months pregnant, the dots were connected and it seemed that she got pregnant when they reunited in December.
Is the pregnancy fake? No.
Are they under a PR contract? No, not since 2018.
Considering Yolanda’s controlling and marketing habits, everyone wanted to know if this pregnancy was genuine. Here’s what my source says.
“I definitely think Gigi is genuine with him because she’s very obsessive and protective of him, especially in private.” — my source.

When I asked her about any prospective business deals, she said “I know that family is all about reputation, wouldn’t surprise me.”

“Sources say that their love for each other is somewhat obsessive and incredible clingy so I hope their child teaches them how to love realistically with conditions. Nothings going to be perfect. I’ve heard things about Zayn being this one second: emotionally invested, And then a spaced out boyfriend who ignores it and Gigi sticks it to him because of the history.” — my source
I found that VERY interesting.
She’s describing what I explained about their emotional dependence with each other. Also what I just quoted there is what I revealed in my June Tell All.
Gigi is definitely more excited about the baby as she is more invested in the relationship. Zayn? He’s barely invested in anything except maybe his favorite habits.
I think it’s funny how Zayn posted this selfie on Instagram and he is YET to acknowledge Gigi or anything related to her being PREGNANT.
And lemme tell you something, girls like Gigi definitely wanna be claimed on social media.
Gigi then directly posted this picture of them kissing and she captioned it with “baby daddy” to let you hoes know who she is in his life exactly.
Also, are we not going to talk about that selfie of Zayn? No I’m not talking about how gorgeous he is. I’m talking about how he looks like he’s been crying and he’s in pain. His eyes are RED. I think his beauty truly distracted everyone…
I don’t remember one time that I got an update from any source stating that he’s doing better or he’s healthy. Instead, everyone jokes about how they’re shocked that he’s still going.
I hope this pregnancy can be the start of something new for them and something that will better them. If anything, Gigi can just hire a bunch of nannies if Zayn is gonna pull a March 25, 2015, on them.

I’m sure you guys know the answer to that. I don’t know what his daily routine is in quarantine because I’m obviously not there with him, but I’ve never been told that he’s sober. Even rumors relating to his health aren’t cute.
”Is Zayn happy with their pregnancy and how does it feel about it?”
Like we said, one minute he’s all in, one minute he’s kind of in daze about it. I don’t think he knows what he wants. Gigi on the other hand is very excited and happy.
“Was it an oops baby? Is there wedding bells in the future? How do the parents of Zayn and Gigi feel?”
Yeah this wasn’t planned. It just happened because they reunited randomly in December and boom, pregnant. Yolanda definitely wants marriage and Gigi does too along the road, but I don’t think Zayn wants to even think about that.
A reader left this comment on my Instagram post, “It seems like they just wanted to have casual sex then Gigi got pregnant so now they’re stuck together.” I agree.
I don’t really know how their parents feel about it all. Zayn isn’t that close with his family and as we can assume, Yolanda probably sees a cash cow. A possible reality TV show. A new baby brand. The options are endless at this point.

The thing is, we are living through a pandemic and celebrities are getting dragged left and right for simply being privileged during the pandemic. So of course any smart celebrity team knows better than to start the marketing during this time. If you are engaging in publicity stunts despite the world being in flames—the pandemic, police brutality, the eruption of Black Lives Matter protests, the Muslim concentration camps in China, the humanitnarian crisis in Yemen, the annexation of Palestine, etc.,—you’re just gonna seem really thirsty (cough cough Shawn and Camila cough cough).
Gigi herself stated on an Instagram live that she didn’t think it would be appropriate to make everything about her right now.

Also, they’re not legally obligated to do anything. For all we know, Zayn wants to quit his career. He surely hasn’t released anything special since 2018. His fans barely got a chance to stan him since his hidden problems keep him away from the potential of being a huge artist. He could be as big as The Weeknd and Justin Bieber, but his struggles don’t allow him to be.
It’s so funny to me when his fans think his label is sabotaging him by not releasing music. Yeah, that totally makes sense. Let us sabotage an artist and force him not to put out any work so we can make NO MONEY. Like come on. Do you really think Zayn’s label is happy with all his potential being shoved down the drain? If anything, labels want to overwork their stars so they can make the most money from them.

It’s clear that his hidden issues don’t allow him to pursue a career and I hope that all this time away from the celebrity world, is him trying to better himself. Unfortunately, we’ve never gotten that update.

Not a question, but I agree. That’s what I was rambling about earlier. He probably got private help, but no one is claiming that he’s sober or healthy.

From what I know, he’s not that close to his family. With the amount of issues he has, it’s probably best. The Hadids don’t mind issues because Yolanda sees dollar bills every time she looks at him LMAO.

I don’t think Yolanda is concerned with Gigi’s weight right now because she is pregnant. I definitely think that she is the type to pressure her to lose all the baby weight afterward because she has a habit of doing that.

I think this all goes back to what my source said about him being all in one moment and then spaced out the next. I think he has a lot of issues that need work before he could be ready to be a father.
This is why this pregnancy will test their limits. It could push them (or more specifically Zayn, I think Gigi is in the clear right now), to be healthy and careful. Or it could all just get worse.
Anyways, I wish them the best. The baby will surely be fcking gorgeous. Let’s see how it all plays out.
