Taylor Swift As A Person: Her Interesting Mentality Is What Makes Her A Shark In This Industry (+ Info on her & Joe Alwyn)
Welcome to the “Taylor Swift As A Person” post! This post has been highly anticipated since 2017 and it’s finally here for you all to read!
Taylor Swift is one of those people that I can never figure out if I hate or like. That has a lot to do with Taylor and her surprising mentality and mindset. Taylor’s shark mentality and mindset is why out of all the celebrities I talk about, she’s the only one who has truly known peace.
You might be confused and to that I say, keep reading till the end.
Let’s start from the beginning.
Taylor Swift’s Childhood
If you’ve ever met me in real life you’d know that I highly prioritize childhood as something that draws the foundation to who you become. Of course, I’m no idiot and I do believe genes come into play, but there’s something about a person’s growing foundation that makes them who they are when they’re adults.
Taylor grew up on a Christmas tree Farm named Pine Ridge Farm in Pennsylvania. A Christmas tree farm is a place where they sell Christmas trees which I thought was kind of fascinating and unusual.
With her growing up in Pennslyvania, I could already tell you that the popular girls were not nice to girls like Taylor. I’m from New York so the closest thing I know to a small town are small towns in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The way the mean girls are portrayed in the movies is the way they actually are in small towns, so you can only imagine how a kid like Taylor didn’t get along well with those types of girls.
As a child, Taylor was very talented and showed an interest in music at a very young age. She was a small town girl who interacted with a lot of small town boys. These small town boys aka players are what inspired some of Taylor’s old music about failed relationships and insecurities. Taylor didn’t grow up having a lot of friends, but she did have a close friend or two. This is important for later when Taylor is an adult.
At the time, Taylor was 14/15 when she believed that if she had a successful music career, she wouldn’t have any other problems. So she used her failed relationships, insecurities, and home town life to build her music career and it’s safe to say that it took off from there.
Fame and Career
Throughout Taylor’s career, there were defining moments about her mindset. At the beginning of her career, she was seen as “America’s Sweetheart,” the girl who did no wrong.
The reason why Taylor was seen as America’s Sweetheart is because she made sure to craft herself in a way where no one was disappointed in her. Taylor was seen as such a sweet angel and therefore no one minded her creepy and possessive lyrics. Lyrics such as “She's an actress, she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress, Soon she's gonna find stealing other people's toys on the playground won't make you many friends.” I mean… come on.
Around that time, Taylor was very sweet but also had a possessive and clingy problem. And when people didn’t return those same feelings for her, she felt played. It would also remind her of the other men in her life who played her. Because she was seen as an angel who did no wrong, it gave her an unhealthy obsession with her reputation. She wanted to please everyone, but since she had such strong intense feelings that she couldn’t say out loud; she took to singing them instead.
After the 2016 drama with Kim and Kanye, Taylor decided to throw out her whole “good girl reputation” which to be honest was a blessing in disguise. She was so obsessed with being two steps ahead of everyone and seeming perfect to the point where it made her unbearable.
Taylor and her need to be victimized
Taylor has a strong victimizing mentality and it only become public after what happened with Kanye West at the 2009 American Music Awards.
We all know what Kanye did was extremely wrong and anything he got after that was something he truly deserved. However, it was that type of public embarrassment that kept Taylor in a victimizing zone for most of her 20s. She was already sensitive towards her feelings before fame so you can only imagine how intensified they got after fame. She put up a victimizing wall around herself to keep her from getting hurt.
In Taylor’s mind, it was always“look what they did to sweet little me!!!!” So that’s when Taylor adapted the shading and calling out mentality. She started to believe that she was a target of jealousy, envy, and hate.
One example of this is when Nicki Minaj was upset that the 2015 VMAs did not nominate her song Anaconda for video of the year because it didn’t have any slim bodies in it, but Taylor’s video was nominated. Nicki was talking in general but because Taylor adapted this mentality that someone is always out to embarrass her, she directly tweeted back to Nicki something that made zero sense.
In Taylor’s mind it was, “Oh, she’s shading ME?! I’ll just come and call her out!” After Taylor and her team realized how stupid she looked, they brought out Taylor on stage with Nicki to make it look like everything is well and dandy between them.
Taylor likes to be two steps ahead of everyone even when it’s not necessary. That’s why I always liked to describe her as excessive. Another part of Taylor’s excessiveness is having tunnel vision. Tunnel vision is when you can’t see anything else but the end goal.
So when Taylor is angry, all she sees is a red target at the end of the tunnel. At that point, she doesn’t care who she’s hurting or who she’s dragging into it. She also won’t be the most logical person because all she can see is hitting that red target zone. Therefore, if she hurts someone in the process of getting to her goal, you’re just seen as collateral damage.
A perfect example of this is her feud with Scooter Braun. I’ll get more into that later and you’ll be shocked about what I have to say about it but for now, I’ll talk about how this is an example of tunnel vision. When Taylor first decided to make it known that she had a feud with Scooter, who did she drag into it? Justin, Scooter’s wife & kids, Selena & her failed relationship with Justin, and god knows who else.
She took her anger for Scooter and said, “might as well hurt everyone else in this process.” I remember she was applauding fans for sending hate to Justin and Scooter and since a part of Taylor’s fanbases consists of grown losers, they started sending death threats to Scooters kids, who were like five and three years old at the time. She knew what was going on but she was so angry at Scooter that she didn’t care if his kids got dragged into the hating pit. She was also so angry that she didn’t care if what she said made no sense. The end result? Scooter and his wife had to start blurring out the faces of their kids in pictures from the amount of hate they got.
Now, this all has to do with how Taylor compensates for everything in her life.
Compensating for everything
Almost everything that Taylor does is to compensate for what she didn’t have.
“I didn’t grow up have a bunch of friends at school? Okay, I’ll start a girl squad FILLED with Hollywood’s most attractive and promising women.”
“Kanye West thought he could play me in 2009? Okay, the next time, I’ll eat him, his wife and their kids. And then the next person?! Won’t even get the chance.”
“I didn’t have an impact on my life decisions before fame? Okay, I’ll set a bunch of rules and regulations that people MUST follow if they ever wanna be in my life.”
It’s actually quite common for sensitive celebrities to compensate for loss in their life. For example, Michael Jackson never had a real childhood so when he was older and 200x richer, he compensated by building his own DisneyLand and called it home.
Taylor took everything she didn’t have and made sure that she had it in her mid-20s. I’m going to break up each quote with a section explaining it.
Girl Group Squad
It’s actually kind of funny how much I hated the idea behind this girl squad. It was literally bringing a bunch of people who weren’t that close and making them take photos all the time. It was also meant to serve as this cliquey, ‘we don’t like you/we are better’ type of group.
Taylor LOVED the idea of being the squad’s alpha leader. This is in 2015 so Taylor just hit the peak of her career, she was tearing up anyone who even had as much of a bad thought about her and she felt this immense power.
So you can see why it hurt so much when Kanye West kicked her off her high horse in 2016, but we will get to that later.
Back in 2015, Taylor loved being the mean girl who was sometimes nice. She felt powerful gathering up a group of women who will always have her back no matter what. It was like she physically built a wall around herself just in case someone wanted to attack.

Taylor compensated for not having friends or being liked by making sure that in her prime she was going to have the friend group everyone wanted. During this time Taylor believed in acting out goals. “Look at me and my 35 model and singer besties just hanging out and being #goals!!” She was trying to make people look at her and see a perfect life, a perfect friend group, and even a perfect boyfriend.
Ah sweet Calvin before he rightfully called her out on Twitter.
Anyway, you know the girl group was all for show when the year ended and Taylor dismantled them. This doesn’t mean they weren’t actual friends, but it meant that they came together to serve a purpose for Taylor and when it was over they dipped. In return, they got publicity and free press by posing with the powerful Taylor Swift.
Calling people out
After what happened with Kanye and Kim in 2016, Taylor learned that she can’t trust anyone as easily as she used to. I still think that Taylor should’ve accepted what she did in 2016 instead of trying to find new ways to prove her “innocence” because at the end of the day it was a deal she agreed to that she randomly turned against.
This 2016 scandal gave Taylor the mentality of “before they get to me, I’ll get to them 10x harder.” This is exactly what she did to Scooter Braun in the summer of 2019. If you ask me, her whole issue is valid but the way she’s doing it is in very typical Taylor style.
It’s one thing to educate people on the music industry, but it’s another thing to be angry at someone else for something YOU did more than a decade ago. Scooter blinked and Taylor ripped him a new one, then she ripped Justin a new one, and then ripped Yael Cohen and her kids a new one. But even as I say this, I sort of sympathize with her, because she reminded me of myself reacting very similarly in a different situation. Maybe I wasn’t as dramatic but that’s because of the scale of things.
How Taylor is reacting to Scooter is because she is so tired of people being out to get her. Now of course in this situation, no one was out to get her but you know Taylor and her feelings of being a martyr.
I used to have a very VERY close friend who ended up backstabbing Angela and me. Some of my haters might say this is karma. At the time I didn’t realize it because it only got stronger in college and it was after her feelings of jealousy intensified. When I realized she tried to set me up for failure with my own friends, I was like Taylor: enraged because suddenly everything she was doing for a year was coming back to me but I was too trusting to think twice about it. So what happened after I realized what she was doing? I bit back 30x harder. Before she could even think of getting a sentence out, I was making her look like an unwanted joke.
It’s this idea of attack before they get a chance to even try something again.
The reason why Taylor is losing her cool is because all of her feelings of being betrayed are being intensified. So before Scooter is even going to think of saying something, she would have already beat him to the finish line. I like to say that Taylor and I go by the “one bark, ten bites” rule. One person will do something and we will come back ten times harder.
Maybe we can get lunch and talk about all of our similarities over tea @taylor?
The No Drug Rule
For those of you Swifties who look at Taylor and think “she doesn’t let anyone do drugs around her” you should thank the ESMG team for putting that info out there. Ever since I did, it blew people’s minds away.
“Taylor?! The Taylor Swift won’t hang out with those who do drugs?! But isn’t that all of Hollywood?!?” Yes, yes and yes.
Having a zero-tolerance rule for drugs is incredible. Everyone, let’s applaud Taylor because out of everyone I talk about, she managed to sneak past the drug phase.
Taylor’s uptightness is what makes her legendary in the eyes of a psychologist. And honestly, the only way to make it out alive in Hollywood is to be uptight. She is so uptight that she has never had to get past a drug phase. In the world of Hollywood where no one says no, how could you trust yourself not to be mixed up in drugs? EASY. DON’T DO THEM.
When I heard Camila Cabello was experimenting with drugs you know what I thought? Well, she’s screwed. And where is Camila heading now? Hopefully to rehab.
Don’t get me wrong, Taylor has tried drugs before. I mean this is Hollywood, they do more drugs than they eat. But she never gave herself the chance to be mixed up with them. Taylor’s good girl image had a lot of truth to it. She simply wasn’t interested in drugs nor was she interested in casual sex the way some people think.
Since Taylor’s good girl image was true and she was generally a nice person, when she was upset, she got vengeful. I always said the nice ones are crazy when they feel betrayed because they like to think “well I’m SO nice, HOW could someone do this to me.” Add in Taylor’s tunnel vision and you get her in the summer of 2019 ripping Scooter Braun a new one before he can even comprehend what she’s upset about.
With that being said, I don’t care for her drama with Scooter. I think she has a right to want to own her things, but I’m talking about WHAT she did about it and HOW she acted.
There is also another reason why Taylor doesn’t support the idea of having druggie celebs cozying up to her and that is because she doesn’t want their reputation flaking off on her. If you are going to hang out with Taylor Swift then you will need to benefit her in some sort of way. Hanging out with Taylor alone could guarantee you a career so you can’t get a free career AND be useless. And what would Taylor get after hanging out with drugged out celeb? The idea that she’s also on drugs? What good does that do for her? None. Which is why she won’t stand for it.
That’s another good thing about Taylor—she doesn’t really lose her morals. She stays true to herself and lives her life the way she sees fit. If drugs are what the young and trendy celebs are doing, Taylor says to herself that she sets trends not follows them.
Taylor’s main rule is usually about drugs but she does have weird other rules that define her strangeness. A few examples are, not performing or attending award shows if someone she can’t stand will be there, having her friends follow odd dress codes, and lately scripted interviews are a must. So sometimes her rules are as uptight as her.
So now I’m going to answer some of the questions you guys have been begging me for.
Are Taylor and Joe Alwyn dating for real?
You guys might beat me up when I say…. no. I’m sorry, I know they started looking real but as far as I’ve been told they’re not. Taylor used to do this thing where she would show the world what love looked like. She was so public with her relationships because she wanted to show that she and her partner were goals. As you can see, this is the same thing that she did with her girl squad. This was before Taylor thought, “instead of acting it out, let me have my team write it out.” So now, all you read are headlines of how in love Taylor and Joe are because they figured it’s easier to get her team writing it than to act it out. They’ll even plant easter eggs here and there because they know her fans will be on the lookout for that. So then fans will be trying to figure out what does this mean about them when really… they got y’all in a chess game and let me tell you something—you ain’t winning.
Also… they’re like seen once a millennium.
Joe is the perfect man that Taylor wants to fill this role. For one, it gives her the idea that she’s in a stable, healthy, and loving adult relationship. On the other hand, he’s not that relevant to cause that much of a frenzy in her day to day life.
Taylor wants people to know that she’s with someone so that they can leave her real love life alone. Therefore, she can write music about anyone she wants without anyone questioning it because they’ll just assume that it’s about Joe. It’s not like he’s an extremely famous dude to the point where the media is on him for information. No… it’s Taylor with that role and therefore she controls it how she sees fit.
I mean did y’all listen to Folklore? The majority of the album was talking about how her love betrayed her and whatnot. Why would she write those type of lyrics during quarantine where she is supposedly so happy with her man? It honestly seems like she was referencing Karlie Kloss for most of it.
“I can see you standin', honey
With his arms around your body
Laughin' but the joke's not funny at all
And it took you five whole minutes
To pack us up and leave me with it
Holdin' all this love out here in the hall”
Like… come on.
Why did she hate her PR with Harry Styles?
Fun fact; in 2012 when Taylor saw how well Selena’s PR with Justin worked out, she wanted the same thing with another popular male star, so Harry’s team and Taylor’s set them up for a PR. She hated it because she felt like she looked stupid during it. It didn’t work out the way Jelena’s did and that was probably because Jelena actually had feelings for each other. Taylor and Harry don’t like or hate each other so it didn’t flow well.
Does she actually care about racial issues?
Yes. Taylor does care, especially now more than ever. The reason why she was so quiet in the past was because she didn’t wanna say anything that was risky. She didn’t wanna hurt her huge country fanbase that were probably all against her views anyway.
How does she feel about her friends being friends with her enemies?
She no longer sees them as friends. Speaking of fake friendships, her and Katy aren’t going to be getting along in the future. Both can’t stand each other and Katy is already siding with those who Taylor considers as enemies. So there is no friendship left there.
Is she part of Dark Hollywood?
Taylor can’t do drugs, let alone take part in cult killings! Kidding 👀 but short answer? No, she is not. Long answer?… also….. no.
Will her and Justin Bieber ever be friends?
Considering they both passionately hate each other, I would say no. It sucks because Taylor and Justin could get along great if Taylor wasn’t mentally 12 years old and lived by the “the friends of my enemies are also my enemies” rule.
Does Taylor have a lot of insecurities?
She does have insecurities, I wouldn’t say they rule her though. She did have insecurities about her body in the past and it is actually one of the reasons she got a breast augmentation done.
Is Taylor a bad person?
As shocked as you guys may be to read this…. no. Taylor can be bitter, vengeful, has tunnel vision, and has the strange behavior of a troll, but she’s actually not a bad person. Taylor feels her most vengeful when you attack her. So if you want a civil relationship with Taylor, simply don’t attack her. She treats all of her workers nicely, she’ll even do random acts of kindness, she genuinely loves her weird-ass fans and above all, she actually loves being a performer and artist. Don’t get me wrong, she does have the attitude of a spoiled 12-year-old but that doesn’t really make her a bad person.
Does Taylor have a ghostwriter?
YES lol. I even know one of their names but don’t ask me to spill before Taylor spills MY guts out!
Does Taylor hate Karlie Kloss?
Taylor feels for Karlie what we all feel for that one deep lost love so the answer has to depend on her mood. Speaking of Karlie Kloss…. my source tells me that they have recently been in contact and have even met up. And when I say recently I mean within a 1-2 year time period.
I did say before that I don’t think they did (because some of yall asked), but I mean that is the point of a post… to find out information!
So why do I say Taylor’s mentality makes her a shark in this industry?
Because Taylor makes sure she’s gonna live the famous lifestyle without all the bad. She’s going to eat up and destroy anyone who comes after her, she stays away from a life filled with drugs and she makes sure to live her life the exact way she wants too. Most celebs are so loose that they end up doing things that hurt them in the long run because they’re too weak-minded to think ahead. Not Taylor!
Usually being uptight in the average world is a bad thing, but in a world where no one says no, the safest thing to be is uptight. And when I call her a shark, I don’t mean that in a bad way. You have to be a shark to survive in a shark industry.
Well, that’s all I have for you today. I hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as I did writing it! This wraps up Schedule 3.
