Exposing The Truth About Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift's Friendship: What Happened Between Them at the 2019 AMA's?

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift seem to be the epitome of “sisterhood” and friendship goals. Being famous with your best friend and attending fancy events together is like the dream for some. However, the reality of the true state of Selena and Taylor’s relationship, is far from being anyone’s goals.
With that being said, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift had a fight at the AMAs and we are going to tell you the whole story.
This post will discuss two things.
What happened backstage between Taylor and Selena at the American Music Awards (AMAs)
An update on Taylena and where their friendship really stands
For anyone who remembers, Taylor and Selena were both at the 2019 AMA’s and they both performed. Selena was seen seated next to Taylor’s parents, but was never seen directly with Taylor.
We never got a Taylena picture backstage or on the red carpet at the AMA’s, which was weird because Taylor and Selena are used to taking pictures together at every event they attend.
how….cute.
They did cheer each other on during their performances, but something was still off. Since you guys are besties, why didn’t you sit together? Why didn’t you associate with each other except from afar?
At one point during Selena’s performance, Taylor and Halsey were seen screaming like 9 year old stans at a concert, for Selena.
The picture truly doesn’t do the reality of the situation, any justice because how they were acting seemed so… forced. It was like “AHHHHH LOOK AT US!!! FILM US!! WE ARE SCREAMING!! WE ARE BESTIES!! WE SUPPORT WOMEN!!!”

Also, Halsey just runs with the flow; whatever new and big thing there is at the moment, so is Halsey’s support. And once that new thing isn’t big or loved anymore, there’s Halsey’s criticism (aka how she was with Katy Perry and Justin Bieber). Anyways, this ain’t about her.
Another notable moment of the night was when Taylor was “singing” to Selena in the crowd. This one really tugged on the general public’s heart strings.
I gotta give it to them: they put on a great show. Almost got me living for their “sisterhood.”
You get the point. The whole show was filled with interaction from far away between Taylena and it was what seemed like massive supporting, but it was all done from a distance. Why? There’s a huge reason.
Any closer look at Gomez can show you how OFF she was the whole night. Sure, Taylor was “singing to her BFFL” who looks like she’s two seconds from passing out on herself.
Selena was on camera stumbling, tripping, and leaning with every movement she took. She wasn’t able to speak hence her not being interviewed and all in all, she was just in a horrible state.
On top of that, she did horribly during her performance. She barely moved, sang off-key in her chorus, and was completely out of it for the whole night.
Our sources have already told us that Selena was wasted at the event and that was a huge reason as to why Taylor didn’t wanna associate with Selena. Selena herself couldn’t stand up straight and on top of that, was seen vaping backstage. So add the effects of the alcohol, drugs, and whatever she was vaping, and you got Selena at the 2019 AMAs.
Taylor has known about Selena’s struggles with addiction for a while now, but to see her so OBVIOUSLY intoxicated, pissed Taylor off.
Taylor has ALWAYS looked at Selena in two ways:
like her little sister
and in a pitiful way.
Taylor wants the best for Selena, but she can’t help but look at her in and go “ugh…what a mess.” She has always looked at Selena with pity because of Jelena, how often Selena ran to Justin, and because of the drugs.
Taylor and Selena’s personalities differ a lot. Taylor is to Selena what Selena is to others: the head bitch. Taylor is Selena’s head bitch. Taylor always has things under control and you can’t often catch her slipping and if you do; she already got a plan. Like I said, Taylor is very calculating and she is this way in every aspect of her life. Selena does not have herself under control and she was definitely OUT OF CONTROL at the AMAs. Why do you think barely anyone took pictures of her or with her? Taylor’s parents were literally babysitting Selena while Taylor sat with Camila Cabello and Halsey.
Taylor was not about to be risk getting involved with Selena’s messy self at a public event. We will get into that whole thing in a moment.

So at the AMA’s Taylor tells Selena she needs to be careful.
“Her and Taylor had an argument after the show, she was telling her [Selena] she needs to get her shit together because in no time it’ll get out that she actually has an addiction.”

Selena was so bad at the AMAs that Taylor definitely thought “she might get exposed for her addiction tonight, let me keep my distance.”
Honestly, Taylor is one of the only celebrities to give it this hard to Selena and even though she looks at her like a mess, she still cares for her and wouldn’t wanna leave her hanging.
Selena did her usual manipulation trying to convince Taylor she’s fine and there’s nothing to worry about…something she has been doing a lot lately to her peers behind closed doors and to her fans who wouldn’t be able to see the truth if Selena herself put it on a billboard.
I’m not blaming Selena for her manipulation claim that she’s okay, because this is typical addict behavior.
To summarize, Taylena had a fight because of Selena’s state which resulted in Taylor not associating with Selena directly, the whole night (no pictures of them).
This is also the same reason that Selena didn’t have any interviews that day.
I mean this was your comeback night and you couldn’t give at least one red carpet interview and you were seen stumbling all over the place? Come on now, this is ‘Celebrity-intoxicated-at-an-Event 101,’ a class ESMG is teaching this summer lol
Also, Taylor didn’t choose Selena to perform with her and instead choose Camila and Halsey for a couple of reasons.
For starters, Selena isn’t a great live performer. More importantly, Taylor knows Selena’s state makes her unreliable.
You think Selena and her team didn’t jump at the opportunity to shove their friendship goals down our throats with a Taylena performance? Come on! That is the perfect time to preach SISTERHOOD to the general public. However, Selena is unreliable. Is Selena showing up to rehearsals? Who knows. Is Selena even going to be in the mental and physical capacity? Who knows. Is Selena going to be sober? Who knows.
It’s a game of a chance with Selena. It’s like her team rolls the dice and sees if she’s going to be okay this week or not.
Plus, Taylor has her little own side gig of helping promote other artists so they can “owe her one” later.
Now on the more juicier side of things:
An update on Taylena
I will say that I don’t think Taylor is a bad friend. It’s hard with addicts. However, Taylor will not risk being seen with you if you do drugs or in a painfully obvious messy state. it’s like a rule: no drugs around Taylor. In the past, we have said that Taylor does not and will not associate with drug addicts because she’s not going down with them, especially if they get caught. Selena has what? An addiction for like 7 years now which means that her friendship with Taylor has been rocky for that duration.
Taylor never mentioned Selena’s rehab once nor was she seen associating with her after or before her rehab trips because anyone with a brain, knows that Selena was is in there for drug addiction and not lupus.
Going all the way back to 2014, we wrote about one of their earliest fallouts which stems around a common theme here.
Taylor is a very dominant person and wants things done her way, always. That’s why she’s the Queen B of all her little friend groups. She loves to control friends and get them to do what she would do. Her friends go along with it because she helps them career wise. Camila is submissive to Taylor because Taylor has done wonders for her career, got her opportunities, connections, and more.
Now Taylor looks at Selena and gets frustrated because Selena doesn’t listen to any of Taylor’s sisterly demands.
Hence; sisterly DEMANDS. Taylor hates the fact that some things she advises Selena on, go over Selena’s head.

This is a very good description of Taylena. Selena is the queen of manipulation, but Taylor usually runs their friendship. Selena knows it is better to be Taylor’s friend than not. We already know how evil Taylor gets when someone is an enemy of hers.
One way that Taylor has tried to maliciously prove her points to Selena was when she tried to get in between Jelena.

Taylor allegedly tried to hook up with Justin late 2012-mid 2013 (probably trying to get him to kiss her) and it didn’t work out and Justin distanced himself from her. Taylor only did that to try and prove to Selena that he was disgusting and she shouldn’t ever go back to him. But it didn’t work the way Taylor thought it would.
Y’all can cry and make fun of this situation all you want. “Taylor? Wanting Justin? Ew,” but I’m going to make 2 points. Justin had grown women drooling over him when he was 16 - Taylor & Selena being two of them, and Justin’s lyrics already exposed this whole Taylor/Justin/Selena triangle.
Who exactly do y’all think Justin was talking about here? He’s claiming that Taylor was jealous of Selena and what she has. It gets even more descriptive of the reality between the trio.
“Your worst enemy sometime be your best friend.” He’s referencing how Taylor tried to get with Justin and how he claims that she was envious and jealous of Selena. Plus the line, “they try to get at me, behind your back” like it’s so painfully obvious at this point. I ain’t going to explain this old situation so you can read the whole post on it down below.
The above post also talks about how Selena and Taylor allegedly hooked up.. something Justin doesn’t know unless Hailey told him after reading this blog. If you’re going to have a meltdown over us saying this, save your energy.
Back to how Taylena works.
Selena manipulates Taylor into thinking all sorts of things and Taylor gets annoyed which results in her being malicious when Selena doesn’t agree with her demands.
It’s your typical mean girls friendship.
How lovely.
Why do Taylor and Selena still associate with each other, talk about each other very highly, and so on?
At this point in the post, you should be able to answer that question yourself.
I mean look at the following headline that is full of BS.
Selena is a psychopath, that’s nothing new. And Taylor? She loves being the enabler in drama.
If you take anything away from this blog, let it be that celebrities will do anything to cling onto GOOD PUBLICITY.
Taylena is a great selling point! Sisterhood! Besties! Girls supporting girls!
These are all POPULAR themes in Hollywood. Most of your faves don’t support each other. They are not friends. They don’t care about feminism. And they sure as hell don’t have any good sense of sisterhood with anyone else in the industry. But they will pretend to because it is all GOOD PUBLICITY.
This is why celebrities go do charity after a scandal or after getting out of rehab.
Where did Selena go after her messy AMA performance that her team made sure no big media publication posts the VIDEOS of Selena literally being drunk? Kenya.
I’m not saying Selena doesn’t care about the cute Kenyan children. She can if she wants to. I’m just saying that it was planned that way to give her some good publicity surrounding her messy state at the AMAs and her unforgettable performance due to the sole reason of it being laughable.
Also, the reason why big media publications IGNORE physical evidence of Selena being a literal mess; whether that’s stumbling at the AMAs or slapping her ex Justin Bieber—is because her team has people on the inside of these media publications. One of these media publications is E! News in which they have a huge secret deal with them.

Going back to Taylena, Taylor does care for Selena, but she’s fed up with the lies, manipulation, not seeking proper help, self-destruction, and so on. Wow, Taylor, your situation with Selena isn’t that far off from Justin’s situation with her. Except for the fact that they loved getting high together, but besides the point!
However, they are not as close as they’re pretending. All that BS they keep saying about each other in interviews is fairly exaggerated and not true. Selena is just trying to latch onto Taylor’s name for association since there’s only so much she can do by latching onto Bieber anymore since he’s literally married to Hailey.
