It’s time to write about the middle relationship - Shawn Mendes and Hailey Baldwin.

What really happened? Was Shawn in love with Hailey? Did she screw him over? Why did she delete their pictures off Instagram?

So let’s do a quick relationship timeline.

November 3, 2013

Apparently back in 2013, Hailey tweeted "Hey Shawn Mendes, let's date so you can sing to me all day. I'm joking but not really.." which I’m assuming it’s now deleted since no one can find it.

Shawn’s tweet is still up.

People like to list this occurrence as a “meant to be love” since they were interacting long before anything, but this is when celebrities just start getting famous and they get excited when other fellow celebrities acknowledge them. The real shit starts going down in 2017.

A source told People Magazine that "He had his arm around Hailey and stayed by her side all night,” and that they didn't leave the party until 1 a.m - holding hands.

If there was picture proof of this occurrence, I would include it. But there wasn’t. When sources often talk to media publications about how they spotted these two famous celebrities, just know that most of the time it’s just the celebrity’s agent or some shit. As long as the media has the celebrity team’s approval for publication, anything can be said.

Shawn and Hailey both attend Rita Ora’s MTV EMA after-party in which The Sun reports this:

"The place was packed with stars but Shawn only had eyes for Hailey. It clearly wasn’t a one-time thing. They looked like they were seriously into each other. It was a very exclusive bash and Shawn and Hailey were really enjoying themselves, spending ages French kissing.”

And yet there was no photos of them that night except the following:

E! News’ random source reports the following:

"It started out casual as they would run into each other at parties and hangout, but most recently it's become more serious. They are definitely dating and spend a lot of time together. A few months ago they were sneaking out of public venues like Delilah while trying to not make a scene and now they have gone on private vacations to Europe. Their relationship has grown and they don't care if anyone sees them now."

You trying to tell me that Shawn and Hailey went on multiple vacations in Europe and we didn’t get a whiff of it?

I am just going to say it - Shawn and Hailey DID NOT DATE. The media was feeding a “friends turned lovers” theme, but that’s literally the same thing we see today with Shawn and Camila.

You trying to tell me that that doesn’t sound identical to what E! News wrote about Shawn and Hailey?

When the media is reporting random fanfics with no pictures, just know that 9 out of 10 times, it’s a lie that didn’t happen. As long as they have the approval from the celebrity’s team to say what they want, they’re good.

Hailey attends the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards in which she’s asked if Shawn is her date. She replies saying that, "He's not even here, so how could he be my date?"

She then goes onto elaborate on their relationship saying that “He's a friend of mine and we hang out, so I see why people obviously want to make assumptions. Any guy I hang out with people are like, 'Oh, she must be dating him or something's going on,' but I don't ever really feel like I have to explain myself. It's kind of my business and the other person's business. That's it."

She practically denies that they’re dating.

Shawn posts a picture of him and Hailey on Instagram and captions it with flashing camera emojis.

When asked about it on April 10, 2018, he claims they’re just friends and he just wanted to post the picture.

Shawn and Hailey make their debut in Tommy Hilfiger at the 2018 Met Gala.

Looks were served that day ladies and gents… looks were served.

Both of them look FANTASTIC. It was honestly one of my favorite looks.

Shawn posted a bunch of cute pictures on Instagram, which are still up.

Justin and Hailey are engaged and Hailey deletes all her pictures with Shawn.

I know what you’re all thinking.. that escalated quickly.

What is the truth about Shawn and Hailey?

Simple.

Hailey was hurting during Jelena’s reconciliation and Shawn was a great friend to her. This is something we already told you. However, it’s not like me to make a whole post without some new information at least.

My source tells me that Hailey was actually PAID to hang out with Shawn. Shawn knows this and Hailey knows this. It wasn’t some big secret.

Despite her being paid, they were actually friends. Shawn’s team wanted the publicity for him that he was out with a hot model and Hailey agreed to it because she was depressed over Justin and she also receives publicity by being seen with one of the biggest pop singers today.

Win win.

This explains why they were papped together in Canada, a place where paparazzi almost doesn’t exist.

Was there a contract involved?

No, according to my understanding.

A contract makes everything more legitimate and there are certain clauses that needs to be fulfilled while under a PR contract - for example, Shawmila.

Do you realize how Shawn and Hailey were never seen making out? His team only sold stories to the media that they WERE making out.

We saw this same management tactic back with Jelena when Selena was in rehab, but her team was out here selling stories that her and Justin were seen making out. Justin once again being a scapegoat for Selena, but this wasn’t the case for Shawn and Hailey since they were not the toxic ass mess that Jelena was.

The point that I’m trying to get across is that there was not a contracted obligation between the two. As you can see from the timeline above, they were barely seen. In the few times they were seen, they were not doing much except hugging or being close. On top of that, as soon as Justin called up Hailey again and they reconciled, she was able to "drop” Shawn because she was not contractually obligated to be seen with him for longer.

It was like when Selena and The Weeknd’s PR contract came to an ending and she called up Justin also a day before her song Wolves’ release date; like the twisted and conniving snake she is.

How did Justin feel about Shawn and Hailey?

He was jealous.

This also goes back to Jelena’s breakup and Jailey’s reunion because when Selena left Justin to mess with him some more and get him “hooked onto" her, Justin saw Shawn and Hailey and was like oh shit, I think I messed up.

And Hailey did delete all of her photos with Shawn, right? Why would she do that when they walked the Met Gala together because they both wore the same designer? It was a better business and social opportunity to leave the photos up, but when it comes to Justin, she doesn’t really care about other factors. Justin is her #1 priority.

Why did Shawn hint at Hailey breaking his heart and him being so in love with her?

In Shawn’s Rolling Stone interview, he said the following:

Everyone on Twitter was like “aw oh my god, my precious Shawn and his broken heart” and then you know, people sent Hailey hate for “breaking his heart,” but if Shawn’s team pushed the narrative that they were together, obviously he’s going to capitalize on that.

The next paragraph in that same interview is Shawn talking about how he feels the need to be seen with a girl in order to put to rest the gay rumors.

Shawn knew what Justin meant to Hailey, so it wasn’t some surprise when she ran back to him. She was practically crying over him during their entire friendship lmao

To summarize:

Shawn and Hailey were good friends and he was there for her when Bieber reconciled with his vile ex
Hailey was paid to be seen with Shawn despite them being friends because his team wanted to utilize their friendship. No point in Hailey not being compensated if they’re going to sell things on her name. Exmpale “Shawn and Hailey seen making out” articles. Her team would be like where’s our revune for you using our cilent?)
Shawn being with Hailey = good publicity that he’s with some hot model
Hailey being with Shawn = good publicity and relevancy that she’s with some big singer
Shawn just gave the media what they want by saying he was broken hearted over Hailey
